Oceans apart from one another, these three breaks are connected by the idea that perfect surf, while rare, is scattered to the four corners of the world, and that the cartography of great waves remains an unfinished job: Gradjagan was virtually unknown 20 years ago; Tavarua was only introduced to the surf world at large in the mid-1980s. But if these breaks don't have an old and dusty lineage compared to Malibu, Waimea or Narrabeen, each one has nonetheless grown it's own rich past. |
